Job Description

This is an in-office/in-person opportunity located in Sherman Oaks, CA

We are currently on the lookout for a Part-time primary therapist with experience in mental health and substance abuse to join our team of professionals.

Job Summary

- Monday-Friday 9:30 am-4 pm

- Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse and mental health problems.

- AMFT or ACSW will work under our clinical director, an LMFT who can sign off on AMFT and ACSW hours.

General Accountabilities

- Interview the patient to obtain medical history or other pertinent information and evaluate the client's condition.

- Formulates programs for the treatment and rehabilitation of clients.

- Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist clients in overcoming mental health issues and alcohol and drug dependency.

- Counsels family members to assist the family in dealing with and providing support for the client.

- Refers client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.

- Formulates and conducts programs to promote the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse.

- Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.

Job Qualifications

- Education: Master's degree

- Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures AMFT or ACSW
