Immediate need top area Healthcare Institution, Monday to Friday 800am to 430pm

The Imaging Coordinator will provide support to the Team Lead, Imaging and act as the Team Lead in their absence. The Imaging coordinator will ensure all patient encounters are received and prepared for scanning in an accurate and timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Verify receipt of all inpatient and outpatient discharged records utilizing reconciliation measures and following up on missing records to ensure they are received in a timely manner.
Ensure record and patient information are accurate and viewable when prepping paper chart for scanning.
Initiative to repair forms as needed such as torn, wrinkled, folded and dog-eared pages is expected.
Ensure the integrity of the legal medical record by preparing documents prior to scanning the original.
Ensure all pages within each medical record are scanned properly.
Troubleshoot repairs and routine maintenance of scanner, including replacing and ordering parts, taking appropriate action when the scanner is not working properly and cleaning the scanner as needed.
Assisting management with forms inventory, writing policies and procedures, collecting copies of non-approved forms and communicating problems and issues for quick resolution.
Maintain daily scanning logs and weekly reports of activity for data collection.
Train new staff and promote teamwork while providing assistance to customers.
Act as a resource for other members of the organization in regards to policies and procedures.
Assemble and analyze all records assigned, i.e. puts records in accepted chart order and identifies and flags medical record deficiencies.
Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent is required
Previous experience in a medical record department required
Previous medical record experience required
Deficiency analysis preferred
Demonstrated skills in analytical thinking, problem solving
Effective verbal and written communication including ability to present ideas and concepts effectively to providers, leadership and other members of our healthcare team
Ability to organize multiple priorities and make independent decisions
Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a creative and challenging work environment
Self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision
Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Office , Outlook, and other applications necessary to perform the role
