GREAT OPPORTUNITY! If you are an experienced Materials Testing Lab Supervisor / Concrete Laboratory Manager – you will want to join our team! Great Opportunity for a Materials Testing Lab Supervisor / Lab Manager for our in-house Concrete/Construction Materials Testing Lab. If you are a motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience in supervising lab testing of concrete, soil and other construction materials, this may be the right job for you! You must have ACI Certification and be a reliable, professional experienced Concrete Laboratory Manager. Additional ACI, ICC or NICET Certifications a plus!
Construction Lab Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervise all activities related to construction materials testing, lab operations and technical staff
- Perform routine to high level lab testing, including soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry materials and materials testing
- Perform all assessment testing and record keeping for CCRL, AMRL, AASHTO, DOT & DOB
- Properly maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment in accordance with Company standards and procedures.
- Ability to learn and grow, willing to expand skills and certifications through company provided training.
- Inventory and maintenance of testing lab equipment and facilities.
Construction Lab Supervisor Requirements
- One or more of the following certifications: ACI Lab, ACI I or II, NICET Level I, II or III.
- Minimum 2-5 years of related experience in Materials Testing Lab or Concrete or Construction Lab
- Prior Supervisory experience in Construction Laboratory (ie: Concrete Lab, ACI Lab, Materials Testing Lab)
- Essential to be reliable, pleasant demeanor, motivated with attention to details
- Excellent communication skills, knowledge of construction practices and willingness to learn.
- Required to maintain current certifications. Additional certification/training available.
- Ability to lift over 50lbs.

Special Testing & Consulting, LLC has a full service in-house testing laboratory that is licensed by the New York City Building Department and successfully assessed by the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL). It is operated under the supervision of a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer and all testing is performed by American Concrete Institute (ACI) and/or International Code Council (ICC) certified inspectors. Our laboratory includes a state of the art moisture controlled curing room and work stations for concrete testing and for soil testing; all with new equipment furnished in each station.
As our company name suggests, we are fully equipped to provide Specialty Testing Services. The Company owns equipment including concrete coring equipment, rebar finders (pachometer), windsor probe and pin equipment, hydraulic jacks and steel test fixtures for pull testing, etc. so that we can service any special needs of a project.
