Job Summary:
The Director of Clinical Operations plays a crucial role in leading the dynamic clinical team. As a key executive in our organization, the Director will be instrumental in driving the clinical operations strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties as assigned)
Activities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Strategic Clinical Leadership:
- Develop and execute the clinical operations strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure the success of clinical projects.
2. Team Management and Development:
- Lead and inspire the clinical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Drive talent acquisition, training, and professional development within the team.
- Lead the recruitment and hiring process for clinical team members, including providers and support staff.
3. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and standards for clinical operations.
- Implement risk management strategies to address potential challenges and ensure regulatory compliance.
4. Operational Efficiency:
- Implement processes to optimize resource allocation and enhance operational productivity.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Act as a liaison between the clinical team and external partners, vendors, and clinical sites.
6. Quality Assurance and Data Integrity:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to uphold the integrity and reliability of clinical data.
- Establish procedures for monitoring and auditing to ensure high-quality standards.
7. Financial Oversight:
- Contribute to the development and management of budgets for clinical operations.
- Ensure optimal resource allocation, cost-effectiveness, and financial efficiency.
8. Clinical Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, update, and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Additional Duties:
- Develop schedules for clinical providers and support staff, ensuring the LPN Clinical Supervisor is maintaining optimal coverage and efficient utilization of resources.
- Oversee the resolution of patient complaints, working collaboratively with the clinical team to address concerns and implement improvements.
- Ensure that the LPN Clinical Supervisor is maintaining prudent financial management, resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness in clinical operations.
- Attend and actively participate in administrative meetings, providing updates on clinical operations and contributing to strategic discussions.
- Assist the LPN Clinical Supervisor in developing and maintain workflows.
- Participate in the Disciplinary Process when needed.
- Ensure Clinical staff is up to date with BLS, License (if required), and Annual Health Assessments.
- Ensure LPN Clinical Supervisor in Completing Annual Skills Checklist for each staff member and assist when warranted.
- Ensure LPN Clinical Supervisor is conducting Annual Reviews for all Clinical Support Staff and assist when warranted.
- Visit all Clinical Sites to ensure standardization, compliance, and to establish regular communication with offsite staff to proactively address any needs or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless integration of clinical operations with overall organizational goals.
- Identify and coordinate preceptorship opportunities for incoming providers, facilitating a smooth integration into the clinical team.
- Work in conjunction with the CMO and Medical Director of School Health to develop a process for the commencement of new School Based Health Centers and other future Clinical Sites.
Required Experience and Education:
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Advanced degree (MSN, MBA) preferred.
- Leadership experience in clinical operations within the healthcare industry.
- Proficient in operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to quickly address any emergent issues without losing focus on task at hand.
- The employee must have full sight and hearing with fluency in the English language. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit.
- Maybe required to travel from one location to another to accomplish job satisfactorily or when needed.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, computer printer, etc.
