Summary
At Vero Orthopaedics, radiologic technologists provide quality imaging to help us deliver first-rate patient care. We seek candidates with outstanding communication skills, a collaborative disposition, and an unwavering commitment to serving patients. The radiologic technologist will conduct radiographic exams in compliance with physicians’ directions and radiology protocols. Ideal candidates will keep abreast of the latest imaging technologies, demonstrate good technical judgment in assessing image diagnostics, and work with physicians and other staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate computer generated x-rays to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during exam.
- Operate and oversee operation of radiology equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Position patient on examining table.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Input data into computer to document and specify scan sequence. · Record, process, and maintain patient data and x-ray records.
- Demonstrate new equipment, procedures, and techniques to staff, and provide technical assistance.
- Aid with dressing changes to seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and physicians when needed.
- Perform administrative duties such as supply ordering and calling for equipment maintenance when required.
- Print surgery schedules for physicians and ensure x-ray are prepared for surgery.
- Maintain cleanliness of x-ray rooms and equipment.
- Log all outside films and file appropriately.
- Send exams needed to diagnostic facilities for comparison studies.
- Record all Radiology reports and import into patient charts
Performance Standards
- Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
- Skill in obtaining and maintaining accurate records in all aspects of medical office.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to initiate and complete tasks related to job duties without direct request of supervisor.
- Ability to multi-task with phones, patients and other responsibilities
- Maintains strictest confidentiality of patient information and office business practices
Position Relationships
Does not supervise any other employees. Receives supervision from clinical manager on administrative and all other matters.

Qualifications
- Radiology Technician - 2 Year Degree
- AART Certification with a Florida State License
Administrative Support
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the Administrator or the Board, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations. Must have dependable transportation.
