Education Required:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
Currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas (TMB)
2-3 years of ER experience preferred performing x-rays and CT's
CPR/BLS certification required
Position / Goals:
Follow all polices and procedures set up for the delivery of good and safe patient care.
Proper documentation of care, including supplies used and any other data required by ER Policies.
Performs X-ray and CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.
Operates equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while preforming all types of procedures.
Meet standards of practice, all radiology / CT exams, radiology / CT equipment in the ER, and promoting collaboration with physicians and all other personnel within the ER
Performs the function of assessing, implementing, and evaluating aftercare of a patient scheduled for a procedure at the ER
Assist Nurse with any patient care needs that may arise
Communicate efficiently with all staff
Keep all areas clean, to include cleaning rooms after patient has been discharged.
Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complies with the needs of the schedule
Education and Training:
Accountable for maintaining and improvement his/her own Radiology technical knowledge and skills
participate in training and continuing education programs
Responsible for assist with performing lab testing and assist with patient intake as ordered by the physician
Accountable for maintaining and improving his/her own Laboratory knowledge and skills
Capable of placing an IV is a must
Comfortable injecting contrast at high rates
