We are currently seeking a male Specimen Collector/Analyst who will work in our Prescott Valley office. The company provides workplace drug testing, and Federal drug testing services to the community and surrounding areas. The company also maintains a state certified environmental laboratory, which supports our Environmental Services Division, which performs water analysis. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, answer water quality, and related questions, and perform observed drug screen collections on our male clients. This position is entry-level.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday Day Shift (closed on the weekends and most holidays).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs gender-specific (male) observed collections in compliance with state and federal guidelines, and Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs
- Collects specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, oral, hair, alcohol tests etc.
- Assures the quality of laboratory data, which includes but is not limited to maintaining accurate records chains of custody(s), log analyses, reports, and computerized records.
- Operation of laboratory equipment, quality control, sample preparation, and testing.
- Maintains laboratory inventory, reports chemical stocks and supplies.
- Preparation of samples for analytical testing, and the distribution of specimens to the appropriate testing site.
- Completes assigned work within established deadlines in accordance with laws, directives, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on water-related customer questions, primary and secondary EPA limits, and remediation techniques.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with other employees, state regulators, and clients.
- Emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive image.
- Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Performs financial transactions
- Must be familiar with primary and secondary contaminants that may exist in the drinking water
- Knowledge and understanding of regulations, monitoring, and reporting requirements
Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college courses in chemistry, environmental microbiology, and water chemistry
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Strong computer skills to include Word and Excel (use of formulas)
- Has considerable knowledge of the laws, rules, standards, and regulations pertaining to the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. (EPA, ADHS, Federal)
- Has a combination of training and experience which demonstrates that a person has obtained the required knowledge and is able to perform the required work.
- The ability to work independently with minimum supervision after the initial training period
Qualifications:
- Previous water laboratory experience is preferred.
- Qualified candidates will have knowledge of water and wastewater laboratory methods
- Previous drug screen collection experience highly preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must pass all necessary background checks
- Must have a current and valid driver license or ID
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Job Type:
Full-time (30 hours per week)
Supervisory responsibilities – not applicable
Pay: $16.00 - 18.00 per hour
