Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients with acute, chronic, and complex medical conditions, including administering medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
- Assessment and Monitoring: Perform comprehensive assessments and closely monitor patients’ vital signs, development, and response to treatments.
- Family Support: Educate and counsel families on their child’s condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, specialists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with UMMS standards.
- Safety and Advocacy: Ensure patient safety by adhering to evidence-based practices and serving as an advocate for the health and well-being of pediatric patients.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in Maryland or compact state licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required. Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a deep understanding of pediatric growth and development.
