Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Applications Engineer – OR Integration to support the seamless integration and optimization of operating room (OR) systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare technology, clinical workflows, and OR integration, with expertise in healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and DICOM.
This role requires close collaboration with clinical teams, IT professionals, and external vendors to ensure smooth deployment and operation of OR technologies. The candidate must reside in Miami, FL, as no relocation assistance is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
System Integration & Compliance:
- Lead the design, integration, and optimization of clinical applications and OR systems.
- Ensure seamless interoperability and data exchange between various hospital systems, adhering to HL7, DICOM, and other healthcare IT standards.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements for medical software and systems.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support and root cause analysis for OR integration projects.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues in OR environments.
- Work with IT teams to resolve connectivity, interoperability, and data integrity challenges.
Training & Education:
- Conduct training sessions for clinical and technical staff on the use of integrated OR systems.
- Develop user guides and best practices to ensure proper utilization of clinical applications.
Collaboration & Project Management:
- Work closely with IT departments, clinical teams, biomedical engineers, and external vendors to implement and enhance OR systems.
- Participate in hospital-wide technology initiatives, ensuring OR solutions align with broader healthcare IT strategies.
- Assist in the planning and execution of software and hardware upgrades.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, integration workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for compliance and audit readiness.
- Provide regular reports on system performance, incidents, and improvements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in clinical applications engineering, healthcare IT, or OR system integration.
- Expertise in healthcare IT standards (HL7, DICOM, FHIR, PACS).
- Proficiency in networking, database management, and medical device connectivity.
- Experience with medical software, OR automation, and surgical video integration. Strong communication skills to convey technical information to clinical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced clinical environment.
