What You Will Do
As a Phone Triage Nurse, you will be responsible for telephone triage, care plan development and coordination, and follow up care of pediatric patients of IHI.
The Opportunity
- Triage incoming telephone calls and complete care from afterhours calls.
- Conduct telephone nursing assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Advocate for patient/family needs and monitor for healthcare related outcomes.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Under the direction of a physician, instructs patients on emergent care and medications and reports patient response to treatment to physician.
- Communicates lab and testing results to patients/families.
- Manage prescription refills under the direction of a physician.
- Documents encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- Completion of an approved nursing program
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Valid RN license in the state of Indiana
- Valid Indiana Driver’s license and automobile insurance
- All IHI employees are expected to enable multi-factor authentication via their personal smart phone/smart device in order to access IHI systems as a requirement of the role.
This position is open to residents of the State of Indiana, and requires routine presence during Orientation at our Center in Indianapolis, IN. Frequency of on-site presence is dependent upon role and department needs.
