Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week, 6:30 AM - 5 PM)

About the Role
Join the expert surgical team at Lutheran Hospital , specializing in cardiovascular and open-heart procedures. This role involves preparing surgical suites, assisting during complex surgeries, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide top-notch patient care.
Call and Holiday Rotation:
- Required with a 30-minute call response time.
About the Unit
The Cardiovascular OR team provides specialized care for a variety of advanced cardiac and vascular surgeries, including:

Cardiac Procedures: Coronary artery bypass, heart defect repair, heart valve repair/replacement, ventricular assist device implantation, and mechanical device implantation.

Vascular Procedures: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair, endovascular repairs, peripheral vascular treatments, and varicose vein treatment.

Thoracic Procedures: Lung surgery, tumor removal, esophageal/tracheal surgery, and thoracic aneurysm repair.
No prior cardiovascular/open-heart surgery experience is required, making this a great opportunity for surgical technologists looking to expand their skillset.
Education and Licensure Requirements

Required Education:
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or one offered by the U.S. Armed Forces.

Certification Requirements:
-
Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology (NBSTSA) for graduates after July 1, 2009. Certification must be attempted within 3 months of hire and obtained within 6 months (or 12 months post-graduation).

Maintain 15 continuing education hours annually related to surgical technology.

BCLS certification at hire or within 30 days (must be maintained).
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of CST experience (CV experience is preferred but not required).
