Responsibilities
Position Summary : The Senior Director Talent Management is responsible for maintaining a robust succession planning process, talent pipelining for leaders, performance management and competency gap and need identification. Through strategic partnerships with Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Analytics, and the Learning & Leader Institute, this leader helps to assess the performance and capabilities of candidates and leaders, identifies individual and collective skill and competency gaps, and informs the development of programs and developmental pathways to enhance and accelerate career movement for individuals and succession planning for the future success of Ascension’s mission.

Implements a succession planning process that will guide the development of the leadership, technical, and cultural skills and experience that Ascension needs to advance as a Ministry, with a focus on quality, experience and operational rigor to deliver improved health outcomes for the individuals and communities we serve

Ensures the most important outcome of the succession planning process is to identify leadership talent capable of achieving the strategic and operational goals required to accelerate our integrated health ministry, and to develop and strengthen capabilities to enable our talent and workforce to flourish and successfully implement the actions in the Ascension Strategic Plan

Leads and matures a talent planning process, as part of our integrated talent acquisition and management approach, that identifies top leadership talent and outlines necessary developmental steps to ensure talent is ready for increased responsibilities

Participates in design of individual development plans for emerging leaders

Responsible for skills and competency models and strategies to understand current talent, match organizational needs with individual strengths and career aspirations, and incorporate into appropriate talent processes

Leads and matures a performance management process, including leader-associate check-ins

Responsible for assessment strategy; recommends assessment tools to continually and consistency look at leadership talent within the organization

Responsible for role profile strategy and implementation

Evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals

Ensures there are processes and structures in place to deliver results on time, within budget and aligned to Ascension’s Strategic Plan

Fosters a culture of appreciation, belongingness, inclusivity, diversity and equity to drive the associate experience
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experiencerequired, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor'sdegree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those yearsbeing in leadership/management.
Additional Preferences

Bachelors degree strongly preferred, Masters degree preferred
