Infection Prevention Supervisor
Accountable for implementation and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division, and system level. Oversee infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization. Oversight over infection prevention program at one or more facilities. Works with core leader to develop goals for the program and carries out program plans. Provides content for policies and procedures. Key stakeholders: Provide report out at various meetings and committees to the CMO, CNO, Supervisors, managers, frontline caregivers, physicians, Quality, Accreditation, Caregiver Health, IP teams and ancillary departments. Run day to day operations and perform routine infection prevention functions. Orients and trains new hires. Identifies and follows up on opportunities for staff mentorship and development. Operationalization of emergency preparedness plans related to emerging pathogens and novel pathogens. Once trained and depending on facility/service area requirements, Infection Preventionists may be required to take “On-Call” to assist caregivers with IP related questions, regardless of the time or day of the week. The On-Call individual should be prepared to quickly respond to a call at any time or physically go into the facility, depending on the issue at hand. Serve as direct supervisor for infection preventionists and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PAMC infection prevention program.
Position is full time, 1.0 FTE, Day shift, Monday-Friday, core business hours, 40 hours per week. Located at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
Employee has the option to telecommute from any State where Providence has offices (AK, WA, OR, CA, MT, NM, TX).
Applicants must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Microbiology, Nursing, or related laboratory science.

4 years of experience as an Infection Preventionist or Epidemiologist.

4 years of experience in Quality and Patient Safety in healthcare setting.

2 years of experience in Infection Prevention or Epidemiology.
