Job Summary
The Cyber Security Specialist, as a member of the Cyber Security department, will lead the design, development, configuration, and implementation of solutions to resolve complex technical and business issues related to Cyber Security across multiple functions. The Cyber Security Specialist will lead efforts in assessing and mitigating Cyber Security risks, reviewing and consulting on the security of technology solutions to address intricate challenges, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of new solutions, integrating them into both existing and newly defined architecture. Working on multiple high-complexity functions, the Cyber Security Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for multiple technical and process solutions, providing strategic guidance and leadership across the organization. Strong problem-solving, communication, technical expertise, and leadership skills are essential for success in this advanced role.
Essential Functions

Cyber Controls and Monitoring:

Accountable for designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting complex Cyber Security technologies and processes across multiple domains.

Monitors Cyber Security platforms at an advanced level, providing critical insights and actions to resolve complex issues.

Leads the development of advanced strategies for Cyber Security controls, expanding visibility and proactive detection of threats.

Ensures adherence to the highest security standards, including compliance with NIST 800-53 and similar frameworks.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

Identifies and resolves inefficiencies in complex processes, driving modifications that significantly enhance security and operational effectiveness.

Leads the development of clear and comprehensive documentation for complex processes, technologies, and solutions.

Accountable for the development and execution of security strategies, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

Works with senior stakeholders and departments to design, implement, and maintain complex security solutions that align with strategic objectives.

Leads collaboration efforts with Technology, Business, and Audit partners to manage and mitigate compliance risks.

Serves as a mentor and provides strategic guidance to engineers across the organization, influencing key security decisions.

Problem Solving & Incident Response:

Leads efforts to solve complex Cyber Security problems, performing in-depth root cause analysis and implementing advanced solutions.

Accountable for prioritizing and resolving high-complexity incidents, often under tight deadlines.

Provides expert-level 24x7 support for critical engineering and incident response efforts.

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities:

Leads the creation of Product/Capability Roadmaps, ensuring alignment with long-term Cyber Security strategies.

Serves as a SME for multiple complex technical solutions, providing leadership and direction for critical Cyber Security initiatives.

Provides mentorship and guidance for engineers and fellow teammates as needed.

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED required
-
Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems (or other related field) or equivalent work experience preferred

7-9 years Cyber Security, Technology or other related experience required

8-10 years Cyber Security, Technology or other related experience preferred

Deep expertise and hands-on experience with a broad suite of technologies, such as Endpoint Protection, Logging and Monitoring, and Network and Cloud Security.

Exceptional ability to lead strategic initiatives, guide multifunctional teams through the systems development lifecycle, and ensure the successful execution of enterprise-scale projects.
