Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the inspecting, assembling and evaluation of surgical instruments to ensure
quality.
Responsibilities:

Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensurecleanliness and proper functioning.

Determine need for repair/replacement, completeness of set, and facilitate effective sterilization.

Maintain proper levels of supply and materials and distribute supplies and equipment.

Perform regular quality control and infection control standards audits of peers.
-
Perform decontamination and/or processing of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, andequipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.

Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
Requirements
-
Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing obtained prior to hire date or job transferdate required. Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) accepted.

One or more of the following:

Endoscope Reprocessor credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Instrument Specialist credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
