The role you’ll contribute:
Performs direct observation of the patient to maintain safety. Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
The value you’ll bring to the team:

Ensure patient safety through continuous observations of patient environment including monitoring patient activities, patient belongings, and room items. Maintains direct view of patient at all times unless instructed otherwise by Registered Nurse.

Understands restraint monitoring and flow sheet documentation as applicable.

Demonstrates the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques appropriately and in a timely manner to insure patient and associate safety.

Calls for assistance when situation requires.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.
-
Knowledge of therapeutic interventions.
-
Ability to observe changes in patient behavior, deescalate aggressive or agitated behavior, and anticipate need for further intervention.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Basic computer skills.
