The role you’ll contribute:
The Simulation Learning Strategist plans, develops and implements Medical Simulation education and training for the AdventHealth West Florida Division which incorporates all campuses, service lines and departments (both clinical and non-clinical) and associated programs/partners, including Graduate Medical Education and ancillary departments within the WFD. Provides project management services and learner centered solutions for education, training and simulation activities at AdventHealth WFD. Implements assessments for simulation-based curriculum throughout AdventHealth, including the analysis of quantitative, qualitative and scientific data. Identifies and promotes education and training best practices that enhance clinical outcomes, team performance, patient safety and quality improvement efforts. Supports strategic planning, simulation team supervision, and exercise design/development for system-wide customers. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

· Simulation Curriculum Development: Utilizes educational theory that supports simulation as a learning strategy in the development of simulation. Implements and facilitates simulated experiences to meet specific curricular objectives and educational criteria related to multidisciplinary healthcare providers. Integrates current research/literature, industry best practice and evidenced based care in all simulated learning activities. Determines the appropriate simulation modality using best practices for educational outcomes. Conducts in-depth job-task analysis and/or needs assessment to identify learning objectives to determine training solutions and performance enhancement solutions. Ensures that assessment tools are valid and reliable. Selects simulation modalities, locales, and/or technologies as appropriate for assessment activities.
· Simulation Training Team Development : Conducts training programs for healthcare providers which include principles of simulation in healthcare, development of simulation scenarios, safe learning environment, facilitation and debriefing skills. Provides evaluation and feedback for facilitators of simulation activities including scenario design, facilitation and debriefing skills. Conducts onboarding, continuing professional development and mentoring for new simulation facilitators, educators and operations specialists.
· Research : Participates in research using simulation with evaluation measures aligned with organizational, campus and/or specialty goals, outcomes and strategies. Conducts research studies that evaluate educational and training technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes. Ensures ethical treatment of subjects and the use of validated evaluation instruments. Promotes collaborative research partnerships with the goal of knowledge and understanding to improve training, evaluation and design of systems. Supports the collaboration of inter-disciplinary healthcare providers in developing ideas for innovative research, designing study protocols, and preparing logistics for Institutional Review Board approval, initiation and implementation of research study on simulation education methods.
· Project Management : Supports the planning, development and execution of the organizational strategy to include planning, oversight monitoring and adjusting learning and development projects or activities. Supports the oversite of the cost, schedule and performance of assigned projects. Establishes action plans and milestones for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources.
· Data Collection, Measurement and Analysis : Supports research and evaluation of emerging trends to determine their worth (ROI/ROE) to the organization. Creates, develops and maintains a training data collection repository for organization-wide measures of training quality and effectiveness. Manages data capture design, oversees study/research and reports research findings for process implementation. Support the development of tools and surveys that meet the specific learning objectives of a simulation event. Analyzes and disseminates data results to demonstrate program impact for long term strategic planning and program improvement, and to refine and replicate the program.
· Program Improvement : Ensures that simulation activities facilitate patient safety, risk management, organization improvement and quality outcomes. Provides knowledge on simulation curriculum development/design, course facilitation and simulators/associated equipment as needed. Supports the design evaluation strategies and tools to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved. Continually assesses opportunities for improvement in all aspects of learning technologies. Actively participates and contributes knowledge to process improvement activities. Reviews course materials in order to recommend quality learning experiences, effective assessment and functionality.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)
· 5 years of experience in healthcare
· 3 years of experience in simulation
· 3 years in healthcare education/teaching experience
· Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
· Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification
