This position will manage a small team of junior colleagues to support the actuarial pricing of Aetna Funding Advantage (AFA), a level-funded product with over $2 billion in annual revenue, trusted by senior leadership to deliver strong and stable margins. This position will become a trusted partner to market leadership and own pricing recommendations for one of the regions where AFA is sold. In addition, this position will develop strong subject matter expertise on AFA’s new business and renewal pricing models, drive efficiency through process improvement and focus on the development and mentorship of more junior associates.
A strong candidate will:

Support SG rate adequacy, with strong execution of semiannual new business rate review and monthly renewal block checks

Collaborate and build influence with market leadership, sales, and underwriting business partners

Ideate and evaluate strategic initiatives that balance membership and margin objectives

Identify and implement process improvements in the current business process

Mentor and develop junior staff

Oversee the daily work of up to two analysts including colleagues in the leadership development rotational program
Required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years of actuarial experience

ASA or FSA
-
Healthcare experience
-
Strong communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Excel

Prior management experience

Creativity and intellectual curiosity to navigate the dynamic level-funding competitive environment
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with level-funding and/or small group products
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
