GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Vice President over Ancillary Services has the authority and responsibility for planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, and evaluating administrative functions and operations for outpatient services and ancillary services for patients of all age groups. The VP of Ancillary Services oversees the departments within the hospitals as well as in outpatient centers. Departments include, Facilities, Food & Nutrition, Imaging, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Wound Care Center/Hyperbaric/Diabetes, Security, Volunteer Services, Inpatient Rehabilitation, New Smyrna Health Park, and Port Orange Health Park.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Oversees outpatient programs, policies and procedures that describe how the care needs of patient populations are assessed, planned, organized, and evaluated in the outpatient setting.
· Assesses existing and potential systems for effectiveness and formulates recommendations for improvement.
· Develops plans of actions that establishes objectives, defines strategies, and outlines in detail the operational actions needed to meet the objectives.
· Responsible for fiscal management, operational initiatives, and quality & safety adherence in all areas of scope of responsibility.
· Ensures that resources are developed to meet the functions of patient care services and ensures appropriate level of staffing to support organizational plans in ancillary departments.
· Ensures that each staff position has performance standards that meet needs of patients and community.
· Assures compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and standards of practice in all areas where patient care is delivered.
· Assists designated individuals in monitoring, reviewing, and resolving patient and physician concerns. Monitors the patient satisfaction surveys for trends and identified mechanisms to improve customer relations.
· Maintains ongoing direct communication with key members of the medical staff to meet the changing needs of the physicians.
· Serves as an Administrator on call and is available to handle situations as occurrences arise.
· Responsible for the implementation of an effective and ongoing program to monitor the appropriateness of patient care delivered to patients in ancillary services.
· Meets identified objectives and established deadlines on a consistent basis.
· Is an active member of community boards and organizations.
· Oversee operations of facilities department and ensures that the entire organization is in compliance with the Joint Commission environment of care standards as well as OSHA, AHCA and other life safety protocols and regulations.
· Oversees environmental services and ensures that all of our facilities are clean and professional in appearance at all times and provide an excellent patient experience.
· Oversees food and nutritional services and ensures that we meet required standards while providing optimal patient, employee, and guest experiences.
· Works with directors and executive team leaders to ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and maintain accreditation and certifications as well as achieve new certifications as applicable (CARF, CAP, AABB, TJC, Department of Health, etc.).
· Works with other leaders of executive and leadership teams and marketing to grow market share in outpatient services (lab, imaging, rehab, and outpatient centers).
· Responsible for Lease Development and negotiation for all properties owned and operated by AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Director level leadership of a clinical and/or operational hospital support department.
· Demonstrate ability to set and achieve budget targets for financial and growth metrics.
· Exceptional people management, leadership skills including decision-making, team building, motivation, conflict resolution and organizing; capacity to relate to people at all levels, in a manner that wins confidence and establishes support
· Ability to build and maintain effective productive teams
· Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in planning hospital operations, budgets, and process improvement
· Knowledge and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory standards, rules, and guidelines: DNV, JCAHO, and State/Federal agencies.
· Knowledge of federal and state health care laws and regulations, including federal and state anti-kickback statutes, the Stark Law, and HIPAA
· Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field or business management
· 3-5 years Management Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· MBA, MHA, or other healthcare related advanced clinical degrees.
