Position Summary
Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic Enterprise Drug File Application team. This team directly impacts the lives of our customers by providing Drug Pricing and Clinical information as part of our adjudication process. The systems we work with process over 10 million scripts a day and is business critical. You can work knowing you are helping many people each day.
The ideal candidate will have profound technical knowledge, aptitude for logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. As a software engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality software that meets business needs.
The Senior Mainframe Application Developer designs, develops, and implements digital solutions and systems by applying advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall technical direction and innovation of digital engineering projects.

What you will do:

Designs and defines the technical architecture and infrastructure required for the Enterprise Drug File solutions.

Writes code, develops software components, and implements complex functionalities according to project requirements.

Collaborates with other members of the development team and stakeholders to make high-level architectural decisions, proposes design patterns, and ensures scalability, performance, and maintainability of Enterprise Drug File Application.

Leverages advanced programming skills to design and implement complex features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency.

Integrates various software components or systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between different parts of the digital solution.

Writes and executes comprehensive test cases, conducts code reviews, performs debugging, and troubleshoots issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and high quality of digital solutions.

Participates in agile or other development methodologies, attends meetings, contributes to project planning, and helps drive the progress and success of EDF projects.

Explores new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve EDF solutions and drive innovation within the development team.

Creates and maintains technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant documentation while sharing their knowledge and expertise with team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.
Required Experience
5+ year of experience with the following:

Mainframe development and support, utilizing several of the following technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, SQL & MQ

Changeman or similar source control application.

DB2, SQL, Oracle, or similar database
-
Agile delivery methodologies
Preferred Qualifications

Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) preferred.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
