Requirements:
Two years of experience providing direct care services to people with ID/DD (Developmental Disabilities). Direct care staff must be knowledgeable of the Regional Center process, including Title 17. Must have a valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance, U.S. citizenship, first Aid certification, CPR and finger print clearance. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a vehicle to transport consumers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist adults with developmental disabilities find employment.
• Transport our clients to and from job interviews/ job sightings.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Compassionate about the care and well-being of consumers
• Will interact with the consumer’s family members, Regional Center and all other involved parties
• Will implement goals and objectives as recommended by the program and as indicated in the participant’s IPP & Training Assessment
• Develop a rapport with the consumer’s and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
• Update consumer service logs/ daily activity documentation/ timecards
• Ensure an appropriate staff-to-consumer ratio always
• Provide supervision and guidance for consumer’s during trainings and while onsite at work
• (As needed) Virtually connect with clients via Zoom video chat platform and conduct job preparation services. Assist clients with skills related to; interviewing skills, conflict resolution skills, online application assistance, budgeting assistance, computer skills training, technical assistance training, etc.
• Staff will implement “Job Coach” like responsibilities, assisting consumers employment related needs.
• Staff will be in constant communication with management offering help as needed.
