Perform/Setup and utilize all the Xray/Upright MRI equipment including imaging coils, patient monitoring systems, and related articles. Evaluate image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters. Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts. Reviews MRI registration and screening form thoroughly in order to confirm safe access into magnet room. . Performing all filming, archiving and PACS network data management for each patient scanned. Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking. Master new techniques with each subsequent scanner upgrade. Maintains CE credits and ARRT/NYS license. Communicates all pertinent patient information to necessary staff.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Educates patients/families regarding procedure to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes. Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of procedures and answering questions.
- Prepares patient for MRI procedures by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set technical factors. Performs procedures by following and verifying referring provider's orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
- Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Maintains production and quality of MRI images by following established standards, orders, protocols and procedures
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by adhering to MRI safety policies specific to our MRI Zones.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Maintains current Xray NYS licensure and/or ARRT certification credits as required. Will also consider training the right person who is an X-Ray Technician, that would like to become and MRI Technician.
