Position Summary
We are seeking an analytics leader with a strong theoretical and hands-on background in Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Deep Neural Network architectures. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional optimization knowledge and preferably hold a Ph.D. in Machine Learning. This role requires excellent client management abilities to lead a dynamic team of data scientists and analysts.
The new leader will initially oversee a team of three data scientists, with plans to expand the team by promoting risk solutions across all CVS verticals. Our team, "Pricing and Product Analytics," leverages AI techniques to support the actuarial and underwriting organizations, enhancing Aetna Health Insurance Pricing and Caremark Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) Pricing and Product Design. Our mission is to address complex healthcare cost issues and make healthcare affordable for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:

Consult with internal clients to identify opportunities for implementing data science solutions to business problems at an expert level.

Act as an analytics product owner, translating business needs into actionable analytics projects.

Lead and mentor data scientists, providing hands-on guidance in advanced modeling techniques.

Understand key drivers of pricing analytics and the actuarial rate-making process, translating these workflows into business opportunities and framing them as analytical problems.

Act as AI solution architect and develop AI-driven advanced process workflow solutions utilizing state-of-the-art reinforcement algorithms.

Autonomously manage client relationships with senior business leaders, serving as their single point of contact.

Collaborate with business partners to understand their strategies, problems, and goals.

Mentor junior team members.
Required Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in the insurance industry, creating analytical roadmaps, building solutions in collaboration with external stakeholders, and driving implementation with a proven track record of business impact.

3+ years of people management experience.
-
5+ years of experience in strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies.

5+ years of programming experience using Python, pyTorch, and analytics platforms on various big data platforms, with knowledge of advanced analytics tools to analyze large datasets from various sources.

Hands-on experience with LLMs and Deep Neural Network architectures, along with SQL expertise.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in managing risk solutions, particularly in insurance pricing.

Exceptional agile project and time management practices for leading a highly skilled data science team, with the ability to communicate project deliverables and reporting to business partners clearly and delegate tasks effectively through well-organized project management practices.

3+ years of experience leading data science teams, creating a vision, solving day-to-day problems, and coaching the team to deliver consistent, impactful solutions.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
