Place of Performance:

The work to be performed under this contract will be at Bremerton Naval Hospital or Everett Naval Base or Bangor Naval Base. HCWs shall receive notification 48 hours prior to the reassignment to another location within a 40-mile commuting radius of
their assigned MTF.

Scheduling/Hours of Performance:

Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 and 1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5 or 9 hour period, to include an uncompensated 30 to 60 minute lunch break, respectively.
The HCW may provide services 0600 and 1800 on Saturdays and Sundays.
In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period or 40 hours per two week period for 0.5 FTE.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree/Education:
- Master's degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002. / Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience:
- One year of experience in the role as a Physical Therapist within the past 24 months.
Licensure:
- Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist.
Legal Authorization to Work in the United States:
- HCWs performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen

Core Duties:

Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF. Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.
Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment. Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care.
Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required. Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positive health behaviors.
