Role & Responsibilities:
The ADON assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the Nursing Service Department, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations to provide high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and communicate policies and procedures to nursing staff.
- Participate in admissions decisions, management meetings, and quality improvement initiatives (QAPI).
- Oversee new and current Licensed Nurses' (LNs) competencies and ensure compliance.
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, implementing necessary discipline.
- Ensure compassionate quality care and adequate staffing across units.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing personnel.
- Develop and implement infection control programs and safety measures.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor nursing care and resident needs.
- Assist in budget development and financial oversight for the nursing department.
- Act as a management representative in the absence of the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Nursing Degree from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing home, or healthcare facility.
- Current RN license (unrestricted) in the practicing state.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical procedures, laws, and regulations for long-term care.
- CPR Certification required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

- Understanding of or willingness to learn culturally diverse healthcare practices.
- Excellent teamwork, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
- Physically capable of intermittent movement throughout the workday.
