Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Location: San Diego County, CA (San Diego, El Cajon, Chula Vista, San Ysidro)
Salary Range: $92,000 – $122,000
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving diverse populations across San Diego County. This position focuses on providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns, with opportunities to work with specialized populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments (1-hour) and provide therapy sessions (30-45 minutes depending on patient demographics).
- Manage a caseload of 11-12 therapy sessions per day at the FQHC level or 9 therapy sessions per day at the CCBHC level.
- Work with diverse populations, including children (ages 5+), adults, and high-need groups such as pregnant and postpartum patients.
- Provide culturally sensitive care tailored to the needs of the community, with a focus on Spanish-speaking patients.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a terminal graduate program in a psychotherapy-related field.
- Licensure: Active LMFT license issued by the state of California.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Experience:
- Sensitivity to multicultural concerns and the psychotherapeutic process is required.
- Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology experience is preferred.
- AMFTs will only be considered if they are bilingual in Spanish and have specific experience with pregnancy, postpartum care, or serious mental illness.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid California driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.

About the Role:
At the FQHC level, you will address mild to moderate mental health concerns through therapy sessions tailored to individual needs. For the CCBHC level, you will focus on moderate to severe concerns, offering weekly therapy sessions.
