This position is for a Physical Therapist for the Outpatient Clinic here at BNBMC. Hours are 8AM-430PM Monday-Friday.
Description
- Evaluates and treats physician-referred patients by organizing and conducting physical therapy programs. Evaluates physical dysfunction or disability, and plans and implements specific treatment programs. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Assessment, treatment and patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Interviews patients to evaluate physical dysfunction or disability, and plans and implements specific treatment programs according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.
- Provides treatment of patients in accordance with departmental standards of operation while observing specially indicated precautions.
- Observes physician's treatment order including rehabilitation goal and recognizes the limitations of treatment and the responsibilities for which he or she is capable, based on experience, education, and training.
- Prepares written reports, patient evaluations, care plans, interim progress report, and discharge summaries with recommendations for follow-up. Completes reports according to facility policy and updates Rehabilitation Director on daily caseload and status of prior screens/evaluations.
- Conducts training programs and participates in training medical and nursing personnel in PT techniques and objectives.
- Demonstrates involvement in informal discussions with other staff members participating in the direct or indirect care of the patient.
- Participates in the Student Affiliation Program under the direction of the Rehabilitation Service Director.
- Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant as assigned.
- Attends team conferences and makes contributions commensurate with the position of staff physical therapist.

Education
Required
Bachelors or better in Physical Therapy.
Masters or better in Physical Therapy.
Preferred
Doctorate or better in Physical Therapy.
