Jason Walter, LCSW & Associates seeks a fee-for-service psychotherapist to join our team and help us expand our telemedicine practice in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We are currently practicing remotely but may transition to hybrid in-person in the medium-term future.
You will provide psychotherapeutic services to a diverse caseload of clients. The typical client at our practice is struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, or OCD. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with prior psychotherapy experience and/or post graduate training in longterm and behavioral disciplines, and candidates with an existing roster of clients.
This is a great position for recent graduates of MSW and Mental Health Counseling programs. We provide weekly supervision toward fulfilling the requirements for independent licensure in both fields.
Responsibilities:
-Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
-Attend and participate in supervision meetings to discuss cases and improve clinical skills
-Provide short and long term psychotherapeutic treatment
-Remain organized and up to date with all required paperwork
-Collaborate with additional treatment providers and make referrals where appropriate
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields (preferred)
-Familiarity with community mental health resources
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Ability to build rapport with clients
-Strong desire to improve clinical skills and advance professionally
